The final result

Pirjo Manninen won the women's 1.5km freestyle sprint at the FIS Junior World Ski Championships in Štrbské Pleso on 29 January 2000. Ekaterina Stchastlivaia finished second in the official final order and Cristina Kelder third. Manninen's victory followed her second place in the distinct freestyle interval-start race four days earlier.

Finland also took fourth through Niina Karvonen, while Germany's Verena Kleine was fifth and Italy's Sara Rigoni sixth. Rebecca Quinn placed seventh for the United States and Vibeke Skofterud eighth for Norway. The FIS sprint final listing provides the classification positions rather than finishing times for the leading athletes, so the result is reported by rank.

The official programme distinguishes the final from the women's sprint qualification held on the same date. Stchastlivaia led that qualification list, but Manninen headed the completed final result. The final order therefore establishes the winner and podium without substituting the earlier qualification performance. It also gives Finland two athletes among the first four, alongside the Russian and Italian podium finishers.
