The African Health Promoting Campuses Network formally launched during a webinar hosted by the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Higher-education leaders, health professionals and student-affairs practitioners discussed a regional approach to campus wellbeing, with FISU contributing to the collaboration.

Professor Jeanne Grace chaired the session, which combined international perspectives with the needs of African institutions. Speakers described a framework informed by regional analyses and student surveys, followed by a validation phase intended to reflect different university contexts.

The discussion also addressed food insecurity, financial stress and the relationship between student support and academic participation. FISU’s report presented the launch as a step towards coordinated campus-wide systems and continued cooperation between universities rather than a single isolated intervention.
