The Confederation of African Volleyball held an International Refereeing Candidate Course in Egypt with assistance from FIVB Volleyball Empowerment. The training formed part of the Knowledge Transfer Programme, which provides technical expertise to help national volleyball systems develop.
Egyptian instructor Waleed Abdelsamad and Algeria's Mohammed Badr Lazreug led the course. They provided technical instruction and mentorship intended to prepare a new generation of African officials for international assignments and strengthen the consistency of refereeing across the region.
FIVB reported investment of USD 464,000 in twelve Egyptian projects since 2018, covering coaching and knowledge transfer. CAVB President Bouchra Hajij linked the course to the confederation's ambitions for technical excellence and better professional preparation of its officials.
