ITTF school programme reaches six countries
The federation reported 518 children, 21 schools and 168 coaching sessions across four continents.
Source publication date:
The ITTF reported on 31 August that its school programme had expanded from a late-2025 pilot to six countries. Namibia, Grenada, Guatemala, Kyrgyzstan, Togo and Pakistan were participating in the initiative.
The federation’s update recorded 518 children introduced to table tennis through 21 schools, with 168 coaching sessions delivered. These figures describe the programme at the reporting date, rather than a final year-end total.
The approach combines teacher training, equipment and cooperation with education ministries. Its purpose is to support school participation beyond the duration of an individual project. The countries span Africa, the Americas and Asia, making this a development story rather than a tournament result.
