Alexandrova, Bejlek and Baptiste reach Abu Dhabi semifinals

Ekaterina Alexandrova defeated Alexandra Eala 6–3, 6–3 to reach her first semifinal of the season in Abu Dhabi. The second seed struck thirty-three winners and maintained control despite Eala’s resistance at several key stages of the ninety-minute quarterfinal.
Qualifier Sara Bejlek reached her first tour semifinal by defeating Sonay Kartal 6–0, 6–2. Bejlek won the opening ten games and advanced to face Clara Tauson, who beat McCartney Kessler 6–3, 6–4.
Hailey Baptiste also secured her first tour semifinal, overcoming Liudmila Samsonova 6–2, 4–6, 6–4 in her third three-set match of the week. Baptiste’s second top-twenty win of the tournament set up a semifinal against Alexandrova.
