Almaty prepares Kazakhstan’s first FIP Gold tournament
The field includes 150 athletes from twenty countries and more than thirty top-hundred players.

Almaty was set to stage Kazakhstan’s first FIP Gold tournament, welcoming 150 athletes from twenty countries. The second Gold event of the 2026 season offered €50,000 in prize money and 150 ranking points, with its main draw scheduled to start on Thursday.
More than thirty players from the world’s top hundred and eight from the top twenty-five were in the field. Martin Di Nenno and Momo Gonzalez featured in the men’s draw, while Javi Leal and Pablo Lijó led the bottom half.
Aranzazu Osoro and Victoria Iglesias were the women’s top seeds, reunited after 2025 titles in Turin and Veracruz. Ana Nogueira and Lucia Sainz were among their challengers, alongside Jessica Castelló with Lorena Rufo and Jimena Velasco with Marta Barrera.
