Cheltenham running club Almost Athletes outlined its charitable work and investment in volunteer leadership. The club had raised around three thousand pounds for local causes over the preceding year and continued its annual Linda Franks five-mile race in memory of a former member.

The race has contributed more than six thousand pounds to local charities across its history. Over forty volunteers help deliver the club’s events, and a core race committee is being developed to distribute responsibilities and maintain the experience offered to participants.

With a new chair and welfare officer, the club joined England Athletics’ leadership programme to improve governance and learn from other clubs. It is looking towards its fortieth anniversary in 2028, with charitable support, member services and the sustainable delivery of races informing those plans.
