Amanda Sobhy survives match ball in Pittsburgh quarterfinal
The American recovered from two games down against Sabrina as Steel City’s last four was confirmed.

Amanda Sobhy saved a match ball and recovered from two games down to defeat sister Sabrina in the Steel City Open quarterfinals. The American won 8-11, 6-11, 12-10, 11-9, 11-6 in 53 minutes to reach the semifinals in Pittsburgh.
Sabrina held match ball at 10-9 in the third game, but Amanda survived the danger and gradually turned the contest. The result earned her a meeting with Georgina Kennedy, who beat Rowan Elaraby in four games earlier in the programme.
Top seed Satomi Watanabe defeated Saran Nghiem in 24 minutes without losing a game. Jasmine Hutton completed the semifinal lineup with a four-game victory over Melissa Alves, setting a last-four match against Watanabe.
