Chand and Domínguez win university squash singles titles
Hong Kong China take team gold on game difference against India.

India’s Suraj Kumar Chand won men’s singles gold at the FISU World University Squash Championship in Mumbai. He beat Hungary’s Benedek Takács in five games, delivering India’s first men’s singles title at the event in 16 years.
Spain’s Marta Domínguez Fernández defended the women’s singles title against Hong Kong China’s Ching Hei Fung. Hong Kong China then took team gold against India: the sides split four matches, but the champions won eight games to six.
France and Spain collected team bronze. The championship ran from 3–9 August at Somaiya Vidyavihar University, where Chand had trained, combining a host-country singles success with a narrowly decided team final.
