Andersson and Paturel win maiden IBU Cup sprints
The Sjusjøen races also brought first podiums for Ragna Fostad and Franz Schaser.

Sara Andersson and Gaetan Paturel earned their first individual IBU Cup victories in the sprints at Sjusjøen. Andersson won the women’s race in 21:19.6 after a fast second lap and rapid, accurate shooting in the standing stage lifted her from twelfth after the opening shoot.
Celia Henaff finished second, three seconds behind, despite one miss. Ragna Fostad hit all ten targets to secure third and her first IBU Cup podium. Paula Botet retained the women’s overall lead with 920 points.
Paturel won the men’s race in 24:09.3 with one shooting miss. Clean-shooting Franz Schaser finished second, 6.3 seconds behind, for his first podium at this level. Martin Nevland, also accurate throughout, took third, 26.3 seconds back.
