Hungary’s women drew 0-0 away to Andorra in their opening World Cup qualifier. Alexandra Szarvas’s team controlled the match and created numerous chances in Andorra la Vella, but the hosts’ organised defence and goalkeeper prevented the visitors from finding a breakthrough.

Zsófia Mayer and Zsanett Kaján hit the woodwork during different stages of the match. Injuries also forced two first-half Hungarian substitutions, with Laura Kovács replacing Hanna Németh and Virág Nagy coming on for Beatrix Fördős before the interval.

Henrietta Csiszár had a late effort saved and Mayer headed over in stoppage time. Szarvas expressed dissatisfaction with inaccuracies and missed chances. Hungary were scheduled to return home for Azerbaijan at Pancho Aréna, while Azerbaijan opened the group by beating North Macedonia 2-0.
