Andreescu and Stephens receive Indian Wells wild cards
Former major champions join Venus Williams in the March tournament’s announced entry list.

Bianca Andreescu and Sloane Stephens received main-draw wild cards for Indian Wells, joining previously announced entrant Venus Williams. The additions brought three former Grand Slam singles champions into the 96-player field, with qualifying beginning on 1 March and main-draw play following on 4 March.
Andreescu returns for the first time since 2023 after winning the tournament in 2019. She had climbed to number 164 following two ITF titles this season, while Stephens stood at number 775 after an extended absence during 2025.
Other main-draw recipients included Donna Vekic, Jennifer Brady, Lilli Tagger, Alycia Parks and Katie Volynets. The tournament also announced six qualifying wild cards as preparations continued for the first event of the Sunshine Swing.
