Mirra Andreeva and Amanda Anisimova advanced to a Dubai quarterfinal meeting after winning their opening matches of the tournament in the third round. Both had received first-round byes followed by walkovers, delaying their first appearances until Wednesday.
Defending champion Andreeva defeated Jaqueline Cristian 7–5, 6–3 in a contest featuring thirteen breaks of serve. The eighteen-year-old struggled to hold consistently but produced stronger passages late in each set to secure the victory.
Anisimova beat wild card Janice Tjen 6–1, 6–3 in seventy minutes. The second seed saved three break points while closing the opening set and recovered from a missed first opportunity to serve out the match, setting up their second tour-level encounter.
