Andreeva saves five set points against Linette
The teenager won a flawless tiebreak before pulling away into Doha’s third round.

Mirra Andreeva defeated Magda Linette 7–6, 6–1 to reach Doha’s third round for the first time. The eighteen-year-old saved five set points in a seventy-three-minute opening set before winning the tiebreak without conceding a point and taking control of the match.
Linette repeatedly pressured Andreeva’s serve, but the Russian saved ten break points overall, eight in the first set. The second set lasted only thirty minutes as Andreeva won twenty-nine points against Linette’s fifteen.
The victory improved Andreeva’s head-to-head record to three wins from four meetings, with all three successes coming in straight sets. She also recorded her thirty-eighth WTA 1000 match victory as the tournament moved into its last-sixteen stage.
