Anisimova and Pegula win Dubai quarterfinal thrillers
The Americans defeated the previous tournament’s champion and runner-up to set a semifinal clash.

Amanda Anisimova ended Mirra Andreeva’s Dubai title defence with a 2–6, 7–5, 7–6 quarterfinal victory. She recovered from a set and 2–0 down before surviving another momentum swing in the decider, converting her fourth match point after two hours and thirty-eight minutes.
Andreeva fought back from 5–3 down in the third set and briefly led 6–5. Anisimova held to force a tiebreak, then used strong returning to complete her first top-ten victory of the season.
Jessica Pegula defeated previous runner-up Clara Tauson 6–3, 2–6, 6–4 in the other quarterfinal. The result extended Pegula’s semifinal sequence to seven consecutive events and created an all-American semifinal against Anisimova.
