Amanda Anisimova withdrew from the Charleston Open after sustaining an unspecified injury in Miami. The world number six said she had followed medical advice in deciding to miss the tournament and concentrate on recovery, leaving the field without its scheduled second seed.

Anisimova had reached the Charleston semifinals in both 2022 and 2025. Her withdrawal followed a Miami fourth-round defeat to Belinda Bencic and the recent end of her coaching partnership with Hendrik Vleeshouwers, during a busy transition from hard courts to clay.

Jessica Pegula remained the defending champion and top seed for the event, scheduled to begin on 30 March and finish on 5 April. Anisimova’s next planned appearance was Madrid, after a season already including an Australian Open quarterfinal and Dubai semifinal.
