Archery confirmed for the Karlsruhe 2029 World Games
The programme decision retained the sport while detailed discipline choices remained open.

Archery was confirmed on the sports programme for The World Games 2029 in Karlsruhe following the International World Games Association’s annual general meeting in Lausanne on 25 April. The German event was scheduled for 19–29 July 2029.
Confirmation of the sport did not settle every discipline or event. The detailed programme, including consideration of run archery as an invitational discipline, was still expected to be resolved by 1 July. World Archery’s report therefore distinguished programme inclusion from the final competitive format.
Qualification activity was scheduled to begin on 1 January 2027. The April decision gave federations an initial planning framework for a Games expected to gather approximately 4000 athletes from around 100 countries. Those participation figures were projections, and the announcement did not name qualified archers or award medals.
