Assan leads Kazakhstan one-two at junior aerials worlds
The sixteen-year-old beat defending champion Raimkulov as Pilipenka won the women’s title.

Assylkhan Assan won the men’s aerials title at the Freestyle Junior World Championships in Airolo, leading a Kazakhstan one-two. His final score of 103.35 defeated defending champion Dinmukhammed Raimkulov on 92.82, with Uladzislau Vazniuk taking bronze on 92 points.
The sixteen-year-old recovered from a difficult opening qualification jump. A second attempt worth 100.62 took him into the six-person final, where his execution of the same jump used by Raimkulov secured Kazakhstan’s second consecutive men’s title.
Liubou Pilipenka won the women’s competition with 84.37 points from a back full-full. Canada’s Alexandra Montminy claimed silver, while Ukraine’s Diana Yablonska completed the podium on 77.80. Team aerials and dual moguls events remained on the following day’s programme.
