Australia selects Holt, Krebs and Stattmann for first national call-ups
John Rillie takes charge of the Boomers for the February–March qualification window.
Source publication date:
Australia named Jacob Holt, Tanner Krebs and Kody Stattmann as first-time Boomers selections for World Cup qualifiers against Guam and the Philippines. John Rillie was also chosen to lead the national team as head coach for the window.
Holt had made his NBL debut for Brisbane only in November and expanded his role during Tyrell Harrison’s absence. The squad balanced emerging players with experienced overseas-based Australians, including Mitch Creek, Jack White and Nick Kay, alongside established NBL contributors.
Australia had opened its qualifying campaign with two wins against New Zealand. The next games were scheduled in Guam on 26 February and Manila on 1 March, with Sam Froling, David Okwera, Tom Wilson and Elijah Pepper among the selected players.
