Azerbaijan links youth scouting with coach education
Regional sessions and Level 2 courses supported players, coaches and school volleyball.
Source publication date:
Azerbaijan’s junior national-team staff conducted player-identification sessions in Masalli and Lankaran during May 2026. The CEV reported the activity on 4 June, with players aged 12 to 16 being considered for further camps.
The national federation’s longer-term plan was to establish a regional development centre serving the two southern districts. Further scouting sessions in northern Azerbaijan were planned for July; the June report did not confirm their completion.
Baku also hosted FIVB Level 2 coaching courses scheduled for 25–29 May and 1–5 June. Former Türkiye international Neriman Özsoy attended and shared exercises with schoolchildren. The report brings together talent identification, professional education and school participation within one national development programme.
