Azu and Szymanski sharpen world indoor form in Berlin
Personal and national records highlighted the late-season sprint meeting.

Jeremiah Azu improved his sixty-metre personal best to 6.47 in Berlin, cutting two hundredths from the mark he ran in the previous year’s European and world finals. The performance came two weeks before the World Indoor Championships in Toruń.
Poland’s Jakub Szymanski ran a national record of 7.37 in the sixty-metre hurdles, equalling the world lead shared by Trey Cunningham and Dylan Beard. Nadine Visser won the women’s hurdles in 7.81, a hundredth ahead of Ditaji Kambundji.
Italy’s Samuele Ceccarelli was disqualified for a false start in his heat, while Elisa Di Lazzaro did not advance after running 8.16. Jessica Schilder produced a world-leading shot put of 20.69 metres, adding another Dutch victory.
