Barça Atlètic recruits Egypt forward Hamza Abdelkarim on loan
The Al Ahly player arrives with an option for a permanent transfer.

FC Barcelona agreed a loan with Al Ahly for Egyptian forward Hamza Abdelkarim to join Barça Atlètic until June 30, 2026. The February 1 announcement confirmed that Barcelona holds a purchase option at the end of the season.
Abdelkarim completed medical checks and visited the club’s facilities before preparing to train with his new teammates. Born on January 1, 2008, he came through Al Ahly’s youth system and represented Egypt at under-17 level.
Barcelona said he was set to become the first Egyptian player to appear for one of its teams. The forward had already played for Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League and Egyptian Cup.
