Barça handed defending champion Magdeburg its first loss of the men's Champions League season, winning 36–29 away. The result ended twelve unbeaten rounds and moved the Spanish club ahead of its opponent in the Group B standings.
A seven goal closing run decided a contest that had remained close through much of the second half. Elsewhere, Nantes recovered from a 28–22 deficit to defeat Veszprém 33–31, scoring the final four goals after a dramatic turnaround.
GOG won 37–34 at Szeged with Frederik Bjerre converting twelve of thirteen attempts. Dinamo Bucuresti beat Kolstad 33–23 for its second victory of the season, using a dominant second half to turn a narrow interval lead into a ten goal margin.
