Munich draw sets the groups for Germany 2027
Thirty-two national teams learned their preliminary-round opponents for the next men’s world championship.

The preliminary-round draw for the 2027 IHF Men’s World Championship took place in Munich on 10 June 2026. It assigned 32 teams to eight groups for the tournament scheduled from 13 to 31 January 2027.
Group C paired Croatia, Spain, Chile and Türkiye. Group F placed debutants Faroe Islands with Portugal, Poland and Algeria, while Group D brought Argentina and Brazil together with France and Kuwait. Reigning champions Denmark were drawn with Slovenia, the United States and Angola in Group G.
The championship will use six German cities, with the final planned for Cologne on 31 January. The draw is a completed 2026 administrative milestone. Group assignments establish opponents, but do not predict qualification or final standings in the future tournament.
