Barcelona enters initial bidding process for 2029 Champions League final
Spotify Camp Nou is the proposed venue, subject to UEFA approval.
Source publication date:
FC Barcelona formally entered the initial bidding process to host the 2029 Champions League final with Barcelona City Council and the Government of Catalonia. The club proposed Spotify Camp Nou as the venue, supported by the Royal Spanish Football Federation.
The February 3 statement confirmed that the partners had submitted initial documentation for UEFA to assess the proposal. Venue certification and UEFA approval remain conditions of the bid.
Barcelona described this as a preliminary assessment phase rather than a completed host selection. The partners planned to submit the formal final bid and complete dossier in early June 2026, providing the remaining documentation needed for consideration as the final’s host.
