Alice Bellandi won her first Paris Grand Slam title by defeating Yelyzaveta Lytvynenko in the women’s under-78kg final. The Italian increased her attacking pace through the match and scored waza-ari with a seoi-otoshi, leaving fourteen seconds for her opponent to respond.
Bellandi preserved the advantage to add the Paris title to her Olympic and world championship successes. Liz Ngelebeya won her first World Judo Tour medal in one bronze contest, beating fellow French competitor Audrey Tcheumeo with a late waza-ari from a counterattack.
Germany’s Anna Monta Olek took the second bronze medal against compatriot Alina Boehm. The athletes entered golden score with two penalties each before Boehm received a third shido. Ngelebeya and Olek joined Bellandi and Lytvynenko on the category’s podium.
