Belinda Bencic defeated Amanda Anisimova 6–2, 6–2 to reach her twelfth career WTA 1000 quarterfinal. The twelfth seed’s Miami fourth-round victory set up a meeting with Coco Gauff as she attempted to match her semifinal appearance at the tournament in 2022.
Bencic landed eighty-seven percent of first serves and won seventy-two percent of those points. She struck nineteen winners across fourteen games and saved the only break point she faced, which arrived while she already led by a set and 4–1.
The match began at nine in the evening after three earlier Grandstand contests went to deciding sets. Bencic moved ahead 3–2 in her rivalry with Anisimova, crediting comfortable Miami conditions and a confident performance for the commanding win over the world number six.
