Boe and Norway receive reallocated biathlon awards
A Holmenkollen ceremony restored a world medal and two historic team trophies.
Source publication date:
Tarjei Boe received the bronze medal from the men’s mass start at the 2011 World Championships during a public ceremony at Holmenkollen. Norway’s team also received the men’s Nations Cup and relay Crystal Globes from the 2012/13 season as the federation presented reallocated awards.
The revised honours followed the annulment of Evgeny Ustyugov’s results for anti-doping rule violations. The IBU had already announced the reallocations; the March ceremony brought the replacement medal and trophies to their recipients in front of athletes, officials and spectators.
IBU president Olle Dahlin had emphasised recognising athletes whose clean performances merited those results. The presentation took place alongside the current World Cup programme, acknowledging historical achievements through a new public awards ceremony.
