Maurizio Bormolini won the first parallel slalom World Cup in Spindleruv Mlyn, taking a third consecutive victory and his fifth of the season. Ryusuke Shinohara finished second to become the first Japanese man on an Alpine snowboard World Cup podium, improving on his previous best result of seventh.

Mirko Felicetti placed third, ending a ten-year wait for a parallel slalom podium. Bormolini’s victory increased his discipline total to 232 points, ahead of Aaron March on 150 and Gabriel Messner on 149 after another successful knockout final.

Tsubaki Miki won the women’s event ahead of Olympic champion Zuzana Maderova, with Michelle Dekker third. Miki reached 200 parallel slalom points, narrowly leading Maderova on 196 and Elisa Caffont on 195 as more than 1,600 spectators watched.
