Source publication date:
Bosnia and Herzegovina won the UEFA youth development tournament in the Faroe Islands after defeating Estonia 5-1 in the final round. The victory gave Bosnia eight points and first place, ahead of Iceland on seven in the four-team event.
The hosts began brightly against Iceland at Tórsvøllur, leading 2-1 after eight minutes through Andrew Poulsen and Emil Ludvig Jacobsen. Iceland then took control and finished with a 7-2 victory, leaving the Faroese team without a tournament match win.
Estonia ended on two points and the Faroes on one. The final round completed the tournament before the Faroese under-17 players’ next European qualifying programme in England, where England, Israel and Estonia were also scheduled as opponents later in March.
