Bryant and Gilis recover from two games down
The Windy City evening programme produced major comebacks alongside wins for the world number ones.

Jonah Bryant and Tinne Gilis recovered from two-game deficits to reach the Windy City Open quarterfinals. Bryant defeated Joel Makin in a 101-minute all-British contest, while Gilis overturned Anahat Singh’s early control during a five-game women’s encounter.
Bryant won the third game after twenty-one minutes and maintained the recovery through the final two. Gilis similarly changed her approach after losing the opening games, with Singh also hampered by an ankle problem during the remainder of their match.
Mostafa Asal defeated Abhay Singh in straight games and advanced to face Bryant. Hania El Hammamy beat Lucy Beecroft by the same margin, establishing a quarterfinal against Gilis after a competitive opening two games.
