Source publication date:
Caernarfon Town reached the Welsh Cup final for the first time after defeating Rhyl 1879 2-1 at the Blue Turtle Arena in Colwyn Bay. Second-half goals from Brad Young and Zack Clarke put the top-flight side on course for a historic appearance at Rodney Parade.
Rhyl had finished the opening half strongly, with Morgan Murray testing Connor Roberts. Caernarfon regrouped after the break and Young scored six minutes into the second period, finishing after Rio Owen flicked on Sion Bradley's corner from the left.
Clarke added a second in the seventy-third minute from Young's squared pass after Josh Lock opened the move. Ben Lightfoot's powerful late goal gave Rhyl hope, but Caernarfon held on through further pressure to book a final against Flint Town United in April.
