Caitlin Parker outlined her priorities after being named chair of World Boxing’s Athletes Committee. The Australian Paris Olympic bronze medallist had been re-elected to the committee by fellow competitors at the 2025 World Boxing Championships in Liverpool.

Parker said protecting boxing’s Olympic place and ensuring athletes are heard in decisions were central to her plans. She wanted a supportive culture across the organisation, drawing on her experience as captain of the Australian team.

The interview also addressed governance, transparency and the importance of consistent systems that put boxers first. Parker said becoming a mother had reinforced her appreciation of athletes’ lives beyond competition and the support required through different stages of their sporting careers.
