Source publication date:
Canada's women's team approached the 2026 Volleyball Nations League after introducing eight debutants during the previous campaign. Giovanni Guidetti's first full season as coach combined competitive matches with an effort to test more players and expand options across the squad.
FIVB reported USD 1,223,000 in programme support since 2021, including coaching assistance, alongside USD 75,000 for equipment. Hilary Howe Johnson, Emily Maglio and Anna Smrek carried prominent roles as Canada retained its place in the league.
The team also reached the last sixteen at the 2025 World Championship before losing to the United States. Its next VNL season was set to open in Quebec City from 3 to 7 June, giving the developing group an initial home round.
