Caravelli and La Delfa win European Masters honours
Italy’s sprint and race-walking specialists were recognised for their 2025 performances.

Serena Caravelli and Rosetta La Delfa received European Best Masters honours, FIDAL announced on 8 January. The awards recognised the preceding season, with Caravelli selected in sprinting and La Delfa in race walking.
Caravelli won four gold medals at the European Masters Championships in Madeira: 80-metre hurdles, 100 metres, 200 metres and the mixed 4x400 relay. Her hurdles time of 11.51 matched the European W45 record.
La Delfa won the track 5000-metre and road 10-kilometre walks in Madeira, setting European W45 marks of 23:24.96 and 47:28. Her indoor 3000-metre record added to that record-setting season. The awards presentation was planned for the European Masters Indoor Championships in Torun.
