Carvalho’s stoppage-time equaliser rescues Maidstone point
Chelmsford’s second-half lead ended in a 1–1 draw.
Source publication date:
Ruben Carvalho scored five minutes into stoppage time to earn Maidstone United a 1–1 draw at Chelmsford City. The late equaliser denied the hosts victory after Lyle Taylor had finished from close range in the 59th minute.
Chelmsford created several opportunities before the opening goal. Nathan Harness blocked Harry Barbrook's effort before the interval and later tipped Ricky Holmes's powerful shot over. Jason Adigun then worked into the box and supplied Taylor for the breakthrough.
Maidstone's equaliser followed a move involving TJ Bramble, Jamie Yila and Muhammadu Faal. Faal delivered a low cross, substitute Deon Moore got a touch and Carvalho finished decisively. Both teams had made several changes before that closing intervention.
