Casone Noceto wins European cross-country club silver
Oscar Chelimo’s second place led the Italian men’s team onto the Albufeira podium.

Atletica Casone Noceto won men’s team silver at the European Champion Clubs Cup cross-country meeting in Albufeira. Oscar Chelimo finished second individually in 27:29 over 9.3 kilometres, ten seconds behind Playas Castellón runner Rodrigue Kwizera.
Luca Alfieri placed eighth and Konjoneh Maggi thirteenth for the Italian club, which returned to the runners-up position it previously achieved at the Portuguese venue in 2019. Playas Castellón retained the men’s European team title.
Sport Project VCO added under-20 men’s bronze, led by Stefano Pazzinetti’s tenth place. Caivano Runners narrowly missed the women’s team podium despite Elvanie Nimbona finishing third individually, while Sporting Braga defended the women’s championship.
