CEV Legal Commission reviews governance safeguards and beach player movement
The Luxembourg meeting advanced working-group proposals and regulatory discussion.
Source publication date:
The CEV European Legal Commission met in Luxembourg on 20 February to review its governance and regulatory framework. The meeting drew on preparatory work from specialist groups and addressed potential refinements to the confederation’s Good Governance Code.
Discussion focused on whistleblowing procedures, protections for people reporting misconduct and greater transparency. Members examined how safeguards could remain consistent with developing governance standards across international sport, without announcing a completed replacement code in the February report.
The commission also considered proposed competition-regulation amendments, particularly the movement of beach volleyball players. It identified a need to define national and international competition periods more clearly, referring the more complex questions to a dedicated working group for further analysis and concrete proposals.
