China and Korea reach women’s Asian team final
The hosts beat Chinese Taipei while Korea overcame Indonesia in Qingdao’s semifinals.

China and Korea reached the women’s Badminton Asia Team Championships final after semifinal victories in Qingdao. China defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0, while Korea overcame Indonesia 3-1 to set up a championship meeting between the host nation and the twice-denied Korean contenders.
Gao Fang Jie needed 88 minutes to win China’s opening singles match against Chiu Pin-Chian. Jia Yi Fan and Zhang Shu Xian then won the doubles, with eighteen-year-old Xu Wen Jing recovering from a game down to deliver the third point.
Korea took the first singles and doubles matches before Indonesia reduced the deficit. Lee Seo-jin and Lee Yeon-woo secured the decisive doubles victory, winning both games 21-19 to complete the semifinal result.
