China eliminates defending women’s champions India
Korea, Indonesia and Chinese Taipei also reached the Asian team semifinals.

China ended India’s title defence with a 3-0 victory in the women’s Badminton Asia Team Championships quarterfinals. Gao Fang Jie opened with a 21-9, 21-9 win over Tanvi Sharma before the hosts added the first doubles and second singles points in Qingdao.
Korea also won 3-0, defeating Malaysia after An Se-young supplied the opening singles point. Indonesia needed all five matches to overcome Thailand, with Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo winning the deciding singles contest to secure a 3-2 result.
Chinese Taipei defeated Japan 3-2 to reach the semifinals for the first time. Hsu Wen-chi delivered the decisive point in a seventy-minute match, completing the last-four field alongside China, Korea and Indonesia.
