China won four of the six twelve-and-a-half-kilometre individual races on the second day of Paralympic biathlon. Zixu Liu, Jiayun Cai, Yue Wang and Hesong Dang claimed the Chinese titles as increasingly soft snow and one-minute penalties for missed shots shaped competition in Val di Fiemme.

Nineteen-year-old Yunji Kim won the women’s sitting race for South Korea despite two misses, finishing thirteen seconds ahead of Anja Wicker. Kendall Gretsch took bronze, while clean-shooting Liu led a Chinese one-two in the men’s sitting event ahead of Zhongwu Mao.

Natalie Wilkie delivered Canada’s first women’s Paralympic biathlon gold through twenty clean targets in the standing category. Cai recovered from an opening miss to earn his second gold, while Dang secured his first international podium through victory.
