Cipetic’s late penalty gives Kisvárda victory

Kisvárda beat Kazincbarcika 1–0 through a penalty in the 89th minute, settling a close Fizz Liga meeting between two promoted sides. Matanovic won the spot kick, and Cipetic converted despite goalkeeper Gyollai getting a touch on the ball.

The hosts had more possession in the first half but struggled to turn that advantage into a goal. Kazincbarcika concentrated largely on defending before becoming more threatening during portions of the second half.

Kisvárda goalkeeper Popovics made important saves as the visitors created opportunities. The home team then earned the decisive late penalty and retained all three points, leaving bottom-placed Kazincbarcika without a reward after an improved second-half display.
