Coll wins five-game Chicago quarterfinal battle
Orfi, Weaver and Gawad joined the New Zealander in completing the Windy City semifinal field.

Paul Coll defeated Mohamed Elshorbagy in five games to reach a fourth consecutive Windy City Open semifinal. After alternating the opening four games, Coll won the decider 11–1 to complete the sixty-two-minute quarterfinal and remain in contention for another Chicago title.
Amina Orfi defeated Amanda Sobhy in straight games for her first semifinal at the event. Olivia Weaver also advanced in three games against Fayrouz Aboelkheir, setting up a meeting between the second- and third-ranked women.
Karim Gawad defeated Victor Crouin in four games after taking the first two 13–11 and 12–10. Gawad’s progression secured his first Chicago semifinal since 2020 and completed the pairings for the tournament’s next stage.
