Colombia under-17s beat Venezuela in Barranquilla

Colombia’s under-17 men defeated Venezuela 3-1 at the federation’s training centre in Barranquilla. The match opened a two-game friendly programme under coach Freddy Hurtado, providing competitive preparation for the forthcoming South American championship in the age category.
Gilberto Saavedra scored Colombia’s first goal after a constructed attacking move. Luis Maturana extended the lead, and Dilan Bonilla added the third in the second half, completing the home team’s scoring in a match marked by its attacking pressure.
Simón Rojas captained the starting side, which included Freyder Celis in goal and José Escorcia among the forwards. The coaching staff used the fixture to evaluate their playing model, ball circulation and coordination before the team’s continental commitments.
