Connor McDavid named Olympic men’s hockey MVP
The Canadian led the scoring while Connor Hellebuyck and Quinn Hughes received the other directorate honours.

Connor McDavid was named the most valuable player of the Olympic men’s hockey tournament after leading the scoring with thirteen points in six games. The Canadian also received the tournament directorate’s Best Forward award following the final in Milan.
The United States supplied the other two directorate winners. Connor Hellebuyck was named Best Goaltender with a tournament-leading save percentage of 95.62, while Quinn Hughes earned Best Defender after registering eight points across his six appearances.
Accredited media selected all three award winners for the tournament All-Star Team. They were joined by Canadian defenceman Cale Makar and forwards Macklin Celebrini of Canada and Juraj Slafkovsky of Slovakia, completing the six-player selection announced by the IIHF.
