County schools organisers gain new competition funding route
England Athletics opened applications to support the delivery of regional events.
Source publication date:
England Athletics announced a grant opportunity for county schools competition organisers, with applications closing on 22 March. The support is intended to improve the delivery of events that help young athletes qualify and prepare for the English Schools Championships and other national competitions.
The federation placed the scheme within its work to improve experiences for athletes, coaches and officials. That work also includes the Track and Field Vision Group, which brings England Athletics together with other home-country bodies and UK Athletics.
Organisers were directed to the published funding criteria and application questions before completing the form. Applications must be finished in a single sitting, so the federation advised preparing responses in advance rather than expecting to return to an unfinished submission.
