Cyprus Open links SAMBO competition and referee education

The Cyprus Open SAMBO tournament ran in Larnaca from 6 to 8 February, attracting participants from ten countries. Its programme covered multiple age categories and included training opportunities alongside competition.
A referee seminar was led by European SAMBO Federation referee commission chair Ivan Netov. The sessions addressed current rule updates and the requirements of international officiating, placing professional education within the tournament programme.
An open training camp allowed competitors to continue working together beyond their matches. FIAS presented the meeting as an international competition and development event. Participation in a seminar does not automatically establish that every attendee obtained an international certificate, and the published account does not justify inventing medal winners absent from its results.
