Cysique secures first Paris Grand Slam title
Sarah-Léonie Cysique defeated Akari Omori to win the women’s under-57kg gold at home.

Sarah-Léonie Cysique won her first Paris Grand Slam gold medal after defeating Japan’s Akari Omori in the women’s under-57kg final. The French double Olympic medallist scored waza-ari with a sasae-tsuri-komi-ashi after approximately two and a half minutes of the contest.
Omori increased her attacking effort after falling behind, but Cysique kept her position and preserved the score. The victory came after six previous attempts and several Paris medals, giving the home athlete the title in front of the Accor Arena crowd.
Momo Tamaoki won bronze against Chloe Devictor through a throw followed by a decisive hold, collecting her sixteenth Grand Slam medal. Faiza Mokdar took the other bronze for France against Mariana Esteves, scoring a yuko with a seoi-otoshi in the final twenty seconds.
