Darlington score four in derby win at Spennymoor
Cedric Main’s double helped secure a commanding away victory.
Source publication date:
Darlington defeated Spennymoor Town 4–0 at the Brewery Field, with Cedric Main scoring twice in the second half. Max Howells gave the visitors their first-half lead before Main's double and a later Jack Maskell strike extended the advantage.
Spennymoor threatened early through Corey McKeown and later saw Tom Broadbent force a save from Rory Watson. Howells nevertheless broke the deadlock with a powerful finish after moving into the penalty area from the right.
Main converted a penalty shortly after the interval and then headed Will McGowan's cross in off the post. Maskell completed the scoring with a first-time shot from the edge of the box, giving Darlington a convincing National League North result.
