Gregor Deschwanden won his first individual World Cup in Oslo after 309 starts and more than fourteen years on the circuit. The thirty-five-year-old Swiss jumper combined efforts of 132.5 and 130.5 metres to defeat Austria’s Maximilian Ortner by 1.4 points at Holmenkollen.

Ortner had led after the first round and finished on 261.7 points, earning his best World Cup result. Japan’s Naoki Nakamura took third, narrowly ahead of Daniel Tschofenig, while Niko Kytosaho achieved a career-best individual result in sixth for Finland.

Conditions created several surprises among the established contenders. Overall champion Domen Prevc finished forty-second and missed the final round, while Olympic normal hill champion Philipp Raimund placed thirty-sixth. Deschwanden’s victory followed his first Olympic medal earlier in the winter.
